Opened this Signor Vineyards Sangiovese to celebrate my Livestrong Challenge Century ride finish and to pair with a spaghetti dinner with my daughter and her family. This light-bodied red initially has cherry and smoky aromas, but once it opened up, I noticed some pretty red flower notes. On the palate, it has sour cherry and red earth notes that you get on wines from the Texas High Plains, with soft tannins. This 2017 red was a bit tight – I’d like to get another bottle to lay down to see how it will age.
